Everything is always in perfect balance; it can be no other way.
If the body were strictly mechanical, it would be easy. Muscles and joints become painful and problematic when they are forced to hold the body in a balance with gravity that evolution didn’t plan for (phone, bikes, chairs). If we do nothing but loosen the muscles or “get the knots out” we’re not addressing the primary issues and a non-functional balance is likely to remain. The skill lies in working with a client to understand their current balance, while bringing energy and excitement into uncovering new balance, which achieves their physical goals in better harmony with body, mind and spirit. This concept reinforces the body’s tremendous, natural ability to heal.
This is not an esoteric concept, nor am I an esoteric person. I hold certifications in Massage Therapy, Traditional Thai Bodywork and (wait for it) BS and MS Degrees in Engineering. The balance that I bring to the table, is an integration of the rigor of western logic with the subtle energies and perceptions of traditional bodywork modalities.
I enjoy working with clients who understand that I am a skilled facilitator in their own self-healing. Our work on the table or mat for a few hours should be relaxing, regenerative, profound and educational, and should leave you with a passion in seeking a higher state of balance throughout your daily life.
